Sorry all faithful readers,
Been rather busy ever since the last post gearing up for my next performance. I'll try to keep everyone updated on what I've been going through ever since my last entry.
Was on a short break from music to recover from my the CTK's feastday's performance...
Played for a SJC (Saint Jo's Church) comfirmation retreat with my brudders and sistas from Amplify on the 25th.
Basically I 4got about what kept me occupied for the week of 27th Nov to 4th Dec... 'Cept that I bought an absolutely useless BOSS Turbo Distortion pedal... Sold it a week later! I know I missed COG this year and I had the first full band jamming session for Dinner and Dance
I'm sorry Joann! I know I was supposed to come for the CTK's Youth Camp but I'm awfully sorry that I couldn't make it! And I also wanna thank you for allowing me to attend YISS.
Couldn't get the friday off for YISS (8th-11th Dec). In the end I went in on saturday morning. Didn't feel like I played my best for the 1st session, but praise God I did improve as the day carried on.
Attended a funeral wake during the week and the Mass on that same saturday... Daphne, God's always with you, and He knows your pain and loss! Keep the faith! Through the deserts He will carve a pathway for you!
The whole outpouring at YISS was an excellent getting in touch again with God session for me! Made me think about my own LISS back in the summer of '99! (Haha lame expression! I know!) Through the worshippers, I saw God. I saw His children crying out to Him, declaring His Majesty over all, praising His name! God's word tells us, "When 2 or 3 are gathered, there I will always be..." That night, He was there... I felt Him... So did the many others if not all who were there as well!
Because of my sleeping position at YISS, I returned home on sunday with a splitting neck cum head ache! Had to rush to sing for RCIA's baptism Mass in the afternoon. I'm sorry guys and gals, couldn't sing alongside everyone! I already wasn't in the best of shape for the Mass and to top it off, I had the Dinner and Dance audition to worry about.
Didn't think we played extremely well for the audition. Personally I think I sang like crap for Iris. Well, we got through, that's all that really matters right?
Wanna take this chance to affirm my fellow band members:
Stefan: Been an exciting 1 year jamming with you since last year's Dinner and Dance. Why exciting? 'Cuz every session, you never fail to improve! It's like experiencing a new and fresh flavour each time you take a seat at the drum throne!
Leonard: Classical man! Just like Stefan, your improvement is tremendous! To top it off, your determination to try and try and to learn and learn is 1 word... RESPECTABLE! That's 1 area where you've taught me to pursue!
Marisa: My protege! Our latest addition! Your hearing-then-apply is still top notch man! Gotta take my hat and also to give you the shirt off my back! What makes me a lot LOT more impressed is that there isn't many female guitarist let alone rhythmist who's willing and soooo determined to put in that enormous amount of effort to improve herself!
Let's make a loud debut this Dinner and Dance!
(All you budding musicians out there, we still got positions open for a keyboardist, percussionist and male/female vocalists! Drop me an email if you wanna try out!)
