Started work at Aviva Ltd... Man... Wished I could somehow turn back time! Wish I didn't sign the contract! Now I'm blardi stuck with them for 3 full months until the 31st of January next year! Damn!
The people at Aviva are nice actually, this makes the 3 months a lot more bearable I guess... (I desparately hope so too!) Think I'll just treat it like I'm gonna ORD! Haha! The military mentality sure works wonders sometimes!
1 thing I hate about my job here at Aviva... I'm a blardi telephone operator... Yeah, I'm working in the customer service contact centre... What's my job? Handling all the phone call enquiries.
Here's a few ridiculous conversations:
Me: Good morning! Thank you for calling Aviva. How may I help you?
Customer: I'm enquiring on termination of policies
Me: Hmmm... Can I have your policy number sir?
Customer: Err... I don't have that...
Me: How about your NRIC?
Customer: Oh.... Here... SXXXXXXXG
Me: Just a moment... (And I go check)
Me: Sir, could you please tell me what policy are you holding onto? 'Cuz your name is not reflected in my system...
Customer: Err... Yah... I don't have any policies with Aviva...
Me: (to myself) WTF???!!!!
Another:
The usual oh-so-polite greeting...
Customer: I need to check on my policy
Me: Can I have your policy number?
Customer: I don't have the policy number
Me: How about your NRIC?
Customer: SXXXXXXXF
Me: Sir, can you re-confirm your NRIC? It's not showing in my system...
Customer: Oh! You mean you're checking? I'm actually calling in for a friend of mine
Me: (again... to myself) !@#$%^&*())!!!!!!
The ultimate call:
Me: Hi! Thank you for calling. How may I help you?
Customer: Erm... I have a question which I need detailed clarification...
Me: No problem mdm... I'll do my best to assist you!
Customer: Great! Now I wanna know... What's gonna happen to us policy holders when your company winds up?
Me: Excuse me?! (before going.... WTF?!... silently to myself of course!)
See? The standard of typical Singaporean IQ.... Sigh... I'm ashamed man, although I must admit, they provided me with a little of a twist to the routine job I already have...
Stay tuned for more "mis-adventures!" (Gosh! Is there such a word?)
